Start'em Young by Jill Sprott

I love how JBS products are both fresh and nostalgic, making them perfect for this layout about my "hanabata days." I used the Family Time journaling cards and papers as the backdrop for this layout, and worked in a few sheets from the JBS Memo Note Book. I also used star stickers, mini chalkboard alphas, a butterfly, a border sticker, and some cardstock alpha stickers.

Halloween Garland by Amanda Johnson

I love the idea of decorating for the holidays, but unless it's Christmas, I can't seem to motivate myself to do much for the seasons! Maybe it's because I don't have children who will appreciate the decorations, but to be honest, I think it's because I don't want my home to get cluttered with "junk." My solution? Create a little festive corner in my office where I sit every day.

I decided this year I would make a little Halloween-inspired garland for the pegboard wall behind my desk. To make the garland, I used the Halloween chipboard buttons and two colors of Jenni Bowlin buttons. I also used baker's twine to join everything, but you could certainly use ribbon as well.

First, I measured out the baker's twine to be a bit longer than the area I intended to hang it. Then, I began randomly placing buttons onto the twine.

To secure the buttons, I inserted the twine from the front, and back through, knotting it at the front.

After the string was filled loosely, I took a picture frame off of my pegboard wall and simply taped the string to fasten it. Then, I placed the frame back on the wall and made sure all of the buttons were facing front.

Now I have a festive little area to enjoy each day. Until it's time to decorate for Christmas, that is!

Our Girls by Lisa Dickinson

According to Jenni, JBS products are "the building blocks for creative story-telling." Time and time again our designers show just how true this is. Here Lisa uses some black from our newest line, Red/Black Extension III, and some aqua from one of our oldest lines, Tangerine Dream, mixed with red from some of our staples like the JBS Coredinations Cardstock. She has further customized our basics by sanding the cardstock, coloring the title stickers with an aqua Sharpie, using a JBS stamp with watermark ink to create her own patterned paper, and cutting a flock of butterflies with her silhouette. It all comes together beautifully for a classic Lisa creation.

Boo Box by Guest Star Bridgette Troung

A few months ago, I decided that I wanted to make the guest bathroom my 'holiday' bathroom. My husband thinks I just wanted an excuse to redecorate it every month. LOL I asked him to add a shelf for some accessories, and then I found a shadow box frame and plan on making something different to hang in it every month. I KNEW that the JBS bingo cards would work perfect as a centerpiece. I punched plain cardstock for the squares surrounding the card, and added some patterened paper from the 4x4 mini packs. I couldn't resist the new Halloween chipboard buttons and added a few in there. I finished it off with some of the vintage buttons and halloween shapes punched from glittery cardstock. the pennant stickers also worked perfectly, finished off with a bit of baker's twine. I can't wait to make more-Maybe they will pop up in a future post. :) Thanks for inviting me to contribute!!

November Exclusives

These little houses are going to be a must have. Like I must have more. The flowers aren't JBS exclusives, but they are in the November kit. I just thought they were pretty a needed a little moment in the spotlight. Look for another peek or two tomorrow. :)

Boo Bouquet by Kerry Lynn Yeary

i love crafting for the holidays almost as much as i love taking traditional scrapbook supplies and altering them into a vintage inspired home decor piece. One of my newest favorite holiday scrap supplies are the jbs halloween chipboard buttons; the vintage images are so sweet.

for this project i used some vintage crepe paper to create mini rosettes and hot glued them to floral stem wire and adding some jbs orange vintage buttons and halloween chipboard buttons to create a tiny halloween inspired bouquet.

the base is created by covering a small wooden block with a scrap piece of the jbs "vintage black branch" paper and a mini "boo" bingo card {cut from the back of the large halloween bingo card packaging} and then hot gluing the stems of the flowers inside a mini wooden sewing spool. add some orange seam binding {from the playdate seam binding set} tied in a bow.

jbs supplies used : halloween chipboard buttons, vintage orange buttons, playdate seam binding, vintage black branch pattern paper, mini bingo card {from large bingo card set packaging}.

Santa's List by Danielle Flanders

I know Halloween isn't over yet, but it's nearing the time for me to start thinking about Christmas, presents and all that goes with it! I decided to turn one of the little mini albums into a notebook to keep in my purse to remind me of my to-do list for the holidays! I made a section for each of my daughters (marked by tabs/tickets) where I am going to have them write in what they would like for Christmas! I can then keep this with me to refer to it when needed. When the holidays are over, I will add photos of them opening their gifts, and voila! I have a mini album complete from the start of the holiday to the end. I love that I'll have their handwritten wish lists in here to keep forever.

I love the Family Tree line for the holidays with it's reds and greens. I covered the front of the album with the yellow mini paper from the Family Tree mini paper pack. To get a star punched out of it, I had to trim off the corner of the paper and slide my star punch in. It was the perfect size punch to match the star already in the mini album! Then I added a red star sticker and pearl down inside on the first page.

A Silver Receipt rub on was added to the front cover and Black Ledger Sticker Alphas, along with a few more strips of paper. On the inside, I covered a chipboard star with a green 12" x 12" piece of Family Tree paper and punched a hole to attach it inside the book. To finish, I tied a ribbon around the rings and added a new Vintage Christmas button and pin. The little Santa was actually the one who inspired this project!

Happy Lumberjack Birthday Shimelle!!!

I love all the red and black goodness in Jenni's collections! I started with black dotted swiss cardstock, then piled on the red and black papers, including some in the full sheet size and others in the mini papers, so the full butterfly design can be seen even when punched into various circles.

For the title, I mixed the chalkboard and bookprint letter stickers.

The accents are stacks of punched circles - some plain and others scalloped, all edged with black ink, then some are topped with red stitched rub-ons and black pearls. The black circle border at the left is a JBS rub-on added over the spot where the two border strips meet.

For my birthday, we hosted a lumberjack-themed evening, which was a laugh considering I am pretty girly! I loved raiding my fabric stash to make bunting to decorate, including this smaller version that topped my cake. What kind of cake is masculine enough for a lumberjack? I haven't a clue, so I went with clever wordplay instead and served...black forest cake!

The background here is a die cut paper from JBS, cut down just 1/4" on each side to show the black border of the cardstock.

JBS products include the large letter stickers in a black outline with red print, the mini papers in red and black, stickers from the grey memo book, red pear buttons and red star stickers.

The smaller letters are the mini chalkboard letters - love these!
The red stitches are rub-ons by Hambly Studios.

The red star stickers have a button on top instead of a letter sticker and bring a little JBS to the bunting so it matches with the rest of the page.

While enjoying Shimelle's delightful layouts I noticed that October is her birthday month, so join me in wishing her a very happy birthday! :)

Guest Star Bridgette Troung!

We saved one of our guest stars for October so she could wish a very happy birthday to her baby brother who turns 21 today!

Since having my second child, I have to admit-I haven't had time to do many scrapbook pages. But I knew that had to change as soon as I saw this picture of my youngest son, Ethan, and my little brother. I am a HUGE fan of using the JBS journaling cards on cards, so I'd thought I would try to actually use them on a page. I managed to work in 3! And I paired them with my latest love-punched owls (which the mini papers are PERFECT for!) I think the JBS buttons add just the right bit of detail and dimension. I love how the JBS papers coordinate with each other, but aren't matchy-matchy. Thanks JBS!

Boo! Decor by Keisha Campbell

Simple & quick Halloween decor. I wanted to keep my decorations simple & fun. I stayed with a black & white/off white theme with a few pops of orange. The bingo cards & letters were perfect for me to work with.

For this Boo banner:I punched holes in the JBS bingo cards & letter cards.Strung some black ribbon through the holes.Punch a few holes on the bottom of the letter cards and used jump rings to hang the black JBS buttons on.

I covered a plain glass vase with some JBS paper & a little of double stick tape. And added a small candle inside.

I love how these simple pieces blend in so well with her home's existing decor. Thanks for the inspiration Keisha!

Betsy has outdone herself this time! Aren't these Christmas sparklies so very pretty?

I loved creating these Christmas ornaments using 2 packs of Jenni's Christmas chipboard buttons, jump rings, jewelry parts, chandelier crystals, and ribbon.

You can modify this project in many ways, using old jewelry and findings you have on hand.

I am still loving the banners. As I was putting this layout together, I realized that you could easily use the negative of the JBS flag banner stickers by simply sticking pattern paper under the sticky and cutting them out. I'm always a big fan of stretching my supplies and this not only stretches them, but allows you to use a different pattern too. I mixed several different JBS collections to create an eclectic look. I know I've said it before, but I really enjoy the way the collections mix and match without being overly matchy. I actually used the mini pattern papers for the circle accents and flags. The smaller scale works really well for small accents. Thanks for taking a look!

Treasure by Wilna Furstenberg

A while ago I took some fall pictured of my girls. And Scrapbooking them in warms my heart. But with this page i chose a colour scheme that's not typical fall colours. The combination of pink and red with the greens and gold in the picture makes my happy! Those little butterflies are Jenni Bowlin's chipboard butterflies and i just laid them out on the page and used pink gloss spray paint to spray them. As always my hot glue gun came in handy adhering the chipboard butterflies. Maybe today is the day to try combinations that you would not usually out together and hopefully you will be delightfully surprised!
