Red on Sale for Valentine's

We have two great specials running today in our JBS Digital Design Shoppe at JessicaSprague.com!

Roelien van den Berg used both kits to make this adorable candy wrapper:

Celeste Smith has such a timeless style, doesn't she?  I just love how she layered different papers and embellishments to give true "digital texture".

jenni bowlin digital - vintage red, mercantile labels, feather cut files, mercantile mix 2, word arrows, rhinestone buttons and bows
Anja De Dobbelaero used a block design for this layout about Disneyland.  Don't the paper images look like mini sheets when they are reduced in size this way?

Audrey Tan used mad digital cutting skills to cut flowers from one of the patterned papers and then layered a bunch of other JBS digital goodies to create this beautiful layout.

vintage feather wreath

I love how Jenni always includes such great vintage inspired neutrals in each one of her lines. So, I decided to take a bunch of them to create this wintery feather wreath using the exclusive diecut from last month's kit!

I decided to keep it simple with a plain burlap bow.

There are so many beautiful and fun things that you can create with the diecuts - even beyond how awesome they are for layouts!

Hope this inspires you to create something today!

Seeing Stars

I love the versatility of background die cuts! They can add a subtle touch to the base of your layout, or they can be combined with patterned paper and embellishments to create a design focal point for your page.

I knew the star background from the Holiday Backdrops Kit Cuts would work perfectly with photos of my son's twelfth birthday. I enlarged it to 9.5 x 9.5 and cut it out of white cardstock, backing several of the stars with papers from the new Modern Mercantile line, as well as the bicycle mini paper from the Magpie collection.
My photos were adhered to the left side of the die cut and I backed the whole thing with the light blue patterned paper from the Modern Mercantile collection. For my title, I used the new Printer's Block Alpha rub-ons applied to one of the larger stars:

A piece of teal twill tape across the center of the die cut adds contract and leads the eye to my journaling tags, which I've slipped behind the die cut to keep the page design clean and uncluttered:

Because the die cut portion of my page has been adhered with foam squares, there is room to easily slide the journaling cards underneath them.

Finally, I added two of the domino chipboard pieces to the upper right corner of my die cut. The two "six" pieces were perfect to indicate my son's age:

Be sure to check out all of the background die cuts (and many other designs!) in the Kit Cuts section of the JBS Mercantile.

Happy Scrapping!

Vintage Valentine Sweetness

We have a beautiful new digital kit for you today just in time for Valentine's Day projects: Vintage Valentine.  This kit contains 6 JBS Chipboard Vintage Valentine images, 3 Valentine Printed Tickets, and a beautiful rose image.

Do you remember those chipboard Vintage Valentine buttons when they were offered as real tradition scrapbooking product?  They sold out so quickly, but now you can have them forever!

Creative Team member Nirupama Kumar created actual buttons from the digital images and used them along with the tags and some JBS paper on this striking layout.

I love valentine's and valentine's themed products. I don't have a ton of photos to use them with so I paired them with photos of another love: Chocolate World. I was going for the look of little love notes scattered about. I added some digi patterned paper to some envelopes, with digi buttons for closures. The vintage tickets were perfect to add my journaling. - Nirupama

Smile by Amanda Jones Robinson

Today we have some die-cutting and misting goodness from Amanda Jones Robinson.  She's used neutral papers and soft misted hints of blue and red to create this dreamy peek into her childhood.  Beautiful!

Amanda used the stars from the Holiday Backdrops Digital Cut Files as a stencil for the background and then added a few of those stars to the layout as embellishments.  She also added some feathers (available exclusively through the January Papercrafting Kit - sold out) and the number 2 from last month's Stencil Numbers Digital Cut Files.

Thanks for the inspiration Amanda!

P.S.  Take advantage of our January Promo and sign up for a membership with out monthly kit club so as to not miss another exclusive JBS Mercantile digital cut, stencil, stamp, or paper!  While the January Membership kits are sold out, this promo is still good for membership with our February kits!

Lovely Butterflies - 50% Off

One of Jenni's most popular products are her Rub-On Butterflies.  You can get them today in digital format at 50% off  at our Digi Shoppe at JessicaSprague.com:

The kit comes with 8 .png images and 1 image in .abr format.  You can recolor, resize, print on paper for your hybrid projects, and so much more.

A "Punchable PDF" comes in the kit where hybrid scrappers can use their Fiskars/JBS Classic Butterfly Shape punch to punch these babies out!

Creative Team member Nirupama Kumar used the kit to digitally add the butterfly digitally to a photo of her daughter and clustered the photo on layers of digital papers.  She then created this beautiful hybrid layout using traditional JBS product.  Isn't that title wonderful?

Supplies:
Jenni Bowlin Studio digi papers: Snacktime, Cabbage & Microdot
Jenni Bowlin Studio: Coordinations cardstock, Magpie label, red skinny alpha stickers, black ledger alpha stickers, butterfly sticker

The title is a line from Mary Poppins, I thought it fitting since we were at a kite festival. I have always loved the JBS butterfly rubons and stamp. It is one of those iconic Jenni designs that just makes a project special. Love the ease of adding a rub on digitally and making it extra large! I scattered a few dots of gold glitter around the page to add to the whimsy of the page.

Chrissy Guido created this sweet layout using the kit and other JBS butterfly images and digital product.  This layout has me inspired for Valentine's Day!

moving in circles..

Hi everyone, Gina here to share a layout using some cool JBS cut files. I'll admit I don't actually have a digital cutting machine so thanks to the lovely Natalie for coming to the rescue :) I've used the backdrops 1 cut file on this page..

I've used the circle and stars from the file and featured the circles in 3 different ways.. Firstly I added a bit of a random pattern over the background by dabbing some 'malted milk' paint through the circle die-cut. Next I sprayed a section of the diecut with aqua ink spray and reverse printed near the paint circles by pressing it ink side down onto the cardstock

Also I cut a couple of strips from the inked circle die-cut and layered them above and below the photo

From the star die-cut section which is in the same cut file, I've hand cut several stars and placed a red star from the apothecary sticker set inside a few of them.

The paint splatters have been made using a 'seed packet' paint dabber and few drops of aqua mist..

supplies:
back drop 1 cut file
hear ye banner stickers candy stripe
red/black mini pattern sheet
magpie mini pattern sheet
wren mini pattern sheet
skinny alpha - red
skinny alpha - black
mini chalkboard alpha
printed tags kraft flag
vintage sew on buttons - cream
apothecary stickers - red
ranger jbs paint dabber - seed packet
ranger jbs paint dabber - malted milk
vintage labels

thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping! x

Life and Love with Karine

Here are two beautifully artistic layouts from Karine Cazenave-Tapie featuring JBS digital cut files.

She created the lovely backgrounds on both layouts using the exclusive stencil from the November JBS Mercantile Papercrafting Kit.

Here is a little more about the layouts in Karine's own words:

I placed it on my white cardstock at first and sprayed pink ink, then before the ink dried, I turned the mask over and applied it to my kraft cardstock.

I selected red & black patterned papers from the self-titled collection: scraps will do!

On the first layout, The heart-shaped frame is simply stapled on my picture, for a better focus on two of the three subjects.

On the second layout, I used the clock shape on my picture, and added the heart left over from my previous cut session and some little stars!

Add some stamps, washi tape here and there and you're done!

I hope you'll like both creations!

See you again soon!

Karine

Project Life

Hey everyone!  It's Jenni Hufford here today and I am sharing a little bit of Project Life using JBS cut files and products!

Today I am sharing my closing page for 2012.   I am the first to admit-- closing pages STUMP me.  I never quite know what to include.

My Project Life week runs from Monday -- Sunday.  Since December 31 fell on a Monday, I was just planning to include a photo in the prior week's spread.  That's when I had the idea that New Years Eve should be my closing page--- what better way to conclude the year??

I used many pieces from the Red/Black Collection in my spread.  It allowed me to have a Holiday theme without looking too Christmas-y.  I especially loved the clocks in the Red and Black Collection/ Mini Pattern-- the clocks were perfect for my New Years Eve theme!  The paper on the top left pocket is from the Family Tree Paper Pad.

I took so many photos on New Years Eve that I decided to include an insert on my closing page--- yea, i know, who makes an insert on the closing page!???   But that's what I love about Project Life, you can make up the rules as you go.    The JBS Cardstock Feathers were the perfect final touch.  I adhered them on top of my page protector.

I backed my insert simply with pattern paper and adhered the page protector (which is just a 12x12 page protector trimmed to fit my insert) with washi tape.

Thanks so much for joining me today!

Two Gorgeous Digital Kits!

We have a BIG post today because we have two beautiful digital kits released!  Both are digital versions of Jenni's much loved paper collections:  Family Tree and Be Our Guest.  Let's hear from Amy Kingsford as she shows us what our Creative Team has done with Family Tree:

Happy Friday all!  This is an especially happy Friday for me, as one of my favorite JBS Collections of all time has just been released over in the JBS Digital Shoppe!

The Family Tree Collection combines wonderfully classic patterns with a fresh color scheme that can add just the right amount of vintage flair to your heritage pages and everyday layouts alike.

Here I've used this collection to scrapbook a photo of my grandparents from the mid 70s.  I thought the colors in this collection really spoke to the era while complimenting my vintage photo perfectly.

Jeweled Butterflies, Feather Stencil Cut File, Halloween Merry Cut File,
Red and Black Extension 1 & 2, School Days Alpha; Ardent Sparrow:

I also have the pleasure of sharing a few pages from the talented ladies of our newly announced Digital and Hybrid Creative Team. So prepared to be amazed!

Thanks Amy!  Now lets take a look at our Be Our Guest Collection!  This is our first digital release with TWELVE patterned papers.  It also has a unique digital clock image and journaling cards that can be used for journaling or frames.

What a gorgeous layout from Amy.  The clock on the left is so striking and balances the gorgeous photos on the right.  Amy used a journaling card to frame a JBS Rhinestone Button.
