Halloween is one of my Favorite holidays. The October JBS Mercantile kits managed to capture everything that embodies the holiday and the season. I have been so inspired to pull out older Halloween photos in order to get them scrapped. Most of the photos include the typical Halloween costumes and Trick or Treat candies. However, I had one set of photos that certainly didn't fit in that typical category.
Most years, my son wore his costume as soon as we acquired it. By the time Halloween would come around, it would be well worn and loved. This time, he decided the costume he had chosen was't particularly comfortable. He wouldn't pose for a decent photo. In fact, the wig was off before he even started down the driveway. He was supposed to be Yu-Gi-Yoh but without the wig, many grown ups assumed he was Sgt. Pepper from the Beetles' song. This caused my son to proclaim at each and every house that he was not Sgt. Pepper. Just like that, a scrapbook page title had been born.
I wanted supplies that embodied both his statement and the fun atmosphere of Trick or Treating. I chose most of my supplies from the October Mini Album kit. I loved the bold traditional colors mixed with the playful patterns. The mini album pages were easy to layer into the layout and provided ample space for journaling.
I added in a few of the Halloween Bingo Cards along with some sparkly buttons and enamel dots from the Artisian kit. Using the pre-cut elements of the mini album kit was a real time saver for me.
The things kids say can help change an ordinary event into something unique. Have your kids said something especially memorable about Halloween or Fall?

leafy layout..
Hi, Gina here sharing a Fall layout with you today..I love to get outdoors here in Australia and photograph the gorgeous Autumn leaves..so I've used them as my inspiration for this layout..
I've used the graphic leaf stencil and lots of bright mists to replicate the leaves in the photo..then stamped in between each leaf with the exclusive graphic feather..
the classic tiny dot alphabet stickers used in the title ink can be coloured easily with ink, and I've used a blue-green combination here..

adding also a scattering of bright green vintage buttons and sequins including the pot of gold and doily assortment.. Once again I've used a feather as a substitute for a leaf with a cardstock feather
The border at the bottom of the page is made with layers of paper off-cuts, some stickers and paper tapes
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to share your Autumn/Fall layouts in the JBS gallery! xx

Project Life
Hello! It's Jenni Hufford here this Halloween week to share with you a page out of my Project Life album!
For this spread I used a combination of the October 2013 Historian Add-On Kit in addition to various Jenni Bowlin products.
The October Historian kit is PERFECT for project life! There are so many fall-themed journaling cards and those alphabet letters are just perfect. We had a lot going on this week so I created an insert with a half sheet. I used one of the tab stickers in the kit on the half sheet.
This week I seemed to experiment a lot with ariel shots- I enjoy challenging myself with different points of view in photography to mix things up!
My kids love the Geico "hump day" commercial. This particular week my daughter said she "wished every day was hump day" after throwing a penny in the fountain at the mall. These are the kind of memories I want to remember!
At the risk of looking ridiculous, I stood on the edge of the fountain and took a photo of my kids giving each other a hug after she shared her wish. I had the photo enlarged to a 12x12 by using mpix.com and trimmed the photo to fit in the pocked. I added gold stars and layered them with Jenni Bowlin sequins and Rhinestone Stars. I used the Shadow Alphabet Stickers across the bottom of the photo.
I hope you have a great Halloween and create wonderful memories to document!

Autumn Memories
I commonly have a whole stack of photos that I'm so far behind in scrapping that I have something that's appropriate for any theme. For example, even though it's now Spring here in Australia, I've still got a bunch of photos from Autumn in my pile.
In contrast to Halloween and Thanksgiving that a lot of you are celebrating in the Autumn months, we were celebrating Easter. Hence the rabbit ears... and the fact that she's hunting for Easter Eggs. But I don't want every Easter page I do to be all pastel tones and cute embellishments, so here's my Autumn Easter page in October!
For this layout I grabbed a sheet of the JBS Kraft Perforated Bank Statement paper and cut a bunch of leaves in it with my Cuttlebug. Yes, I said Cuttlebug! (Remember what it was like before the Silhouette came onto the scene?!) And I paired it with the fabulous contents of the October Papercrafting Kit.
The die-cuts in the kit make it really easy to add a few embellishments without having to over-think it, and the copper sequins create the perfect amount of bling and sparkle!
Without much space left for journaling I've opted to hide it on one of the cards tucked behind the photo. I've jotted down some basic Autumn activities that we get up to year after year. These include things like travelling to the family farm and playing in the fallen leaves. Have you scrapped your Autumn traditions?

County Fair - a New Digi Kit!
This weekend we have a fun and versatile digital kit at our Digital Shoppe @ JessicaSprague.com.
Introducing County Fair!
This kit contains some of my very favorite images. The doily! The wheatgrass! The canning jar! That graphic feather! I love them all!
I haven't made a 100% digital layout in a while, but this kit inspired me to do so!
The doily image adds motion to the layout, doesn't it? And the ribbon with the milk cap button adds just the "winning touch".
Supplies:
This kit has so many possibilities for hybrid scrapbooking also!
Grab it now while it's 25% off!

Got Cardboard & Twigs? Make Halloween Owl Tags!
Need a sweet and easy way to dress up your Halloween treats this year? If you have cardboard boxes, twigs, and a die-cutting machine you can make these adorable tags up in a flash.
I made a bunch of these assembly-line style for my own neighborhood kiddos and made another bunch with my crafty group to sell for charity. They were such a hit, we needed to get back into production for a second run.
The supplies are easy to find and substitutions can be made:
cardboard boxes
twigs
black cardstock
yellow round bling
various scraps of fall patterned paper
brown ink
eyelets (optional)
twine
Jenni Bowlin Studio @ JessicaSprague.com Halloween Merry digital kit
Here's how they were made:
1. The cardboard boxes and twigs were gathered.
2. The boxes are ripped down to an irregular shape approximately 4-1/2 inches x 3 inches. This will form the "tree trunk". Expose the cardboard ribs by ripping and peeling the top layer of the cardboard. Imperfection is the key here! There is no need to be perfect, nor to have each piece look the same!
3. The ribs are inked with any brown ink.
4. The Halloween Merry digital kit contains two owl images as .svg and .dxf for cutting in most die-cutting machines. Load the one labelled "Halloween Owl" into your cutting canvas. This image will have both owl's eyes attached so the image can be removed from the mat with both eyes in place.
Digitally erase the branch on the owl image, so just the owl remains. I also erased his detail feathers for the cutting to go faster, but you can leave them if desired. Resize the image to about 3.25 inches and copy and paste as many as can fit onto your canvas. Cut the owls out onto black cardstock. Using a swiss dotted black cardstock looks so stinkin' cute, but any black cardstock will do.
5. After your owls are cut, you can give their eyes that spooky nighttime look with round yellow bling.
6. To create your banner, print Happy Halloween multiple times from your word processor program, cut them out, add quick notches to make a banner, and ink the edges. I used the font: Bleeding Cowboys.
7. Punch or cut leaves from scraps of autumn patterned paper.
8. Glue all your pieces together, using a pop-dot under the owl's body and fitting the twig and leaves underneath his "bum". Wrap the banner around the twig and glue in place. I used a hot glue gun to adhere everything.
9. Last, punch a hole in the top of the tag, add an eyelet if desired, and string with twine.
Even though these are so easy to make assembly-line style, each owl tag will be different! Tie these around goodie bags, candy bars, or display on tree branches. They are sure to be a hit at your house like they have been around here!

Happy Halloween Mini-Album from Karine!
Hi everyone!
Today let me show you a seasonal mini-book: 100% Halloween!
It has been entirely realized with Jenni Bowlin Studio products!
The papers (black, orange and navy blue) matched perfectly with my pictures! I had fun decorating this great unstructured format "Hodge Podge Book". I only added pictures and mini Halloween cards as extra pages: they were just perfect for my album!
As far as colour is concerned, I had fun adding a touch of green with the stars stickers, and some gold with these fantastic “leaves” rub-ons.
It is a really nice structure to work on. You can do anything you want with it, even give it a slight vintage look to your mini book!
xoxo Karine
