A soft and breezy digital kit : the Victoria Collection

Our new digital release this weekend is a classic Jenni Bowlin Studio pattern and reminds me of breezy summer days sitting on a front porch, rose bushes in view.  So versatile, I can see this kit is definitely "muli-themed" but wouldn't it be wonderful for a wedding project?

This kit also comes with a Punchable PDF which is made to use with the Fiskars/Jenni Bowlin Quilt Star Squeeze Punch:

and of course we always include a Printable PDF whenever we have journaling cards in the kit:

Amy Kingsford created this beauty with  digital stitching, die-cuts, cut-outs, glitter and embellishments that just pop off the page.  How gorgeous Amy!

3 Months by Amy Kingsford | Supplies: Jenni Bowlin Studio Digitals: Victorian Collection, Vintage Bling, Butterfly Rub-Ons; Robyn Meierotto: Cut It Out Stitched Frames (stitching); Pixels & Company: Free Love (leaves).

Chrissy Guido created a "painted" effect with one of the patterned papers:

Supplies: Victoria Collection (5/31/2013) Magpie Collection, Frame RubOns

and did I say something about porches?  Perhaps it has something to do with Susie Moore's gorgeous layout of her summer porch.

and from Audrey Tan ... she used the colors of the kit as a soft background for her bright photo:

Supplies:
Jenni Bowlin Studio: Victoria, Feather Stencil Cuts, Frames Rubons, Jeweled Butterflies, Playful Emblishment Kit, Vintage Calendars, Timeless Elements, Rhinestone Buttons & Bows, Block Alpha Navy On Green

Layout with Washi Tapes

Hi everyone! Harumi here!
I want to share with you a layout I did using Jenni's new tapes.

I put two kinds of tape(this and this) and punched it, put rub-ons of star in center.

I love the Magpie Paper Collection! I chose Nest and Compile.

Let's enjoy using Washi Tapes!
Happy creating!

★ Memorial Day and a Sneak at the June Mercantile ★

Today is Memorial Day, a holiday in the US where we remember and honor those who've died for our country in military service.  Patriotic parades and services are happening in many towns across the country.

Our family has traditionally taken part in our town's parade for many years.  When I opened June's Mercantile Papercrafting kit I was so happy to see colors of summer filling the box.  Just perfect for documenting this holiday and our summer fun ahead.

June's kit is packed with surprises, some of which you'll see on my layout: perforated stamp paper, clothing labels, sequins, adorable baggie, unique tags, and so much more.

I used some of the stronger colored patterns in this layout, but am working on another with some of the softer colors in the kit.  Wait until you see the exclusive stamp and stencil, and Lisa Dickinson's exclusive papers this month!  You'll want to have this kit with you all summer long!

Pocket Stuffers - 2nd edition is in the HOUSE!

... our JBS Digital Shoppe at JessicaSprague.com that is ...

This digital collection is bright and sunny and just right for your divided page protectors, hybrid projects, and digital pages.

Van Nguyen created a digital pocket page about a sunny outing.  I love the idea of splitting one photo into two spaces.  She used three cards from the kit that have a lot of white space using that space for journaling.  You could also use these for photos, too.  There are lots of fun, bright options in this kit that would work for any way you scrap!

Pick it up this weekend while it's 25% off!

JBS Mercantile Exclusive Papers

This month's Jenni Bowlin Mercantile papercrafting kit features exclusive papers designed by the wonderfully talented Lisa Dickinson.
I used these beauties, along with other items from the May papercrafting kit,  on a layout that documents my mother's long-awaited trip to Paris.
One of the exclusive papers is printed with postmarks from Paris, and serves as the background for the layout. I worked in the aqua floral and polka dot exclusive papers as well, mixing them with other patterns from the kit. To temper the boldness of some of the patterns, I added vellum over the papers.

I also fell in love with another kit exclusive: a unique camera stamp.
Holding the ink pad at an angle, bringing it to the stamp rather than the other way around, I inked sections of the stamp rather than the entire stamp, and stamped specific parts of the image on the labels above.

Thanks for visiting today!

Stamp Inspiration

The exclusive stamp in May's Papercrafting Kit has me inspired!

The stamp has vintage camera images and text about "film negatives".  This inspired me to go with the film negative theme and create a layout that would contain negative-type images in some way.

A plastic film negative holder is the structure behind the layout.  I created the photo strips in MacPages (a word processing program) and slipped them along with paper strips into the negative sleeves.

The vintage tags, flowers, and sunburst are adhered to the top of the plastic sleeves.  This was such an easy and fun way to embellish a page.  This stamp is so versatile, I can think of many other ways to use it:  as pages in a mini album housed in a tin, stamped on clear acetate, as a photo album label ... the
ideas are endless!

The cutest stencil...

The cutest stencil ever is in this month's paper crafting kit.  Oh my goodness it is awesome.  Have you seen it?  Here is the stencil cut file image to give you an idea of how cool it is.

I really enjoy using stencils.  There are so many ways to use them too.  You can use a stencil with mist or paints or gesso or even a pencil.  I also like to use them with some modeling paste to create a dimensional image from the stencil.  They really are a lot of fun to play with.

I used this month's stencil with some modeling paste and then painted right over it.  It is awesome for a customized look on your pages and projects.

I just love the texture.

Here is another detail of my page.

And all together!

These kits are FABULOUS!  Definitely snag one before they are all gone!

Re-purposing from the JBS Mercantile~

Hi everyone, Connie here with a couple of re-purposed items from the JBS Mercantile.   I started with this suit sample binder~

and I made it into a nature book of our ranch~The pages are material so I just stapled my items on the material samples.

The next one I did was this metal ceiling tile~

and this is what I did with it~

I made a note pad with JBS pattern paper, stickers, the feathers and rub-ons.  I embellished with the flat back and chipboard pieces.  I did one more and I'm going to sneak it in.  The two boys (puzzle) probably brothers, had been speaking to me for sometime. I just loved it and wanted to scrapbook it with my two boys.  This is what I came up with~

This was a one-of a kind item (in the JBS Mercantile section).  I have it on an easel in my sitting area.  I used JBS paper, stickers and stamps. A favorite project of mine.

Oh Happy Day!

Oh Happy Day! Tina here today!
That is how I feel when I receive my monthly box from Jenni Bowlin.  I’m like a kid on Christmas morning, anxious to see what goodness is awaiting for me behind the cardboard flaps.
The May kits are SO full of happiness and joy, I wasn’t sure where to start.  This month’s Mini Album was especially full of yummy product, so I used it as a base for my c.1960 layout.

This layout is a really special one to me.  This is a photo of my mom, circa 1960, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, sitting on the hood of my dad’s car.  I thought the wonderful colors and designs of the embellishments in the Mini album kit would be the perfect complement to this special photo.

I especially loved the Chic Tags die cut sheet included in the Papercrafting kit, so I used it with the fun Basic Grey stickers and Studio Calico wood accent pieces.  Did you notice that I used the entire die cut sheet?  I couldn’t bear to cut it up and use the individual pieces, so I used the entire sheet as a fun paper accent behind my photo.  Did you spy the product packaging on my layout?  I never throw the fancy product packaging out.  I try to incorporate it into my layouts and projects as often as I can.  Another favorite item in the Mini Album kit is the American Crafts vellum.  Vellum is a current love of mine and how fun is this red dot pattern?  It added the perfect little POP of color!

Be sure and stop back!  More May kit projects will be shared and the inspiration is unbelievable.

Digi Friday: Playful Embellishment Kit

Hi everyone!

It's Friday again and new in the digital shoppe this week we have the sweet and versatile Playful Embellishment Kit.  Adapted from Jenni's popular sticker sheets, this digital embellishment kit comes with an assortment of coordinating flashcards, patterned buttons, tabs and an alpha too!

This kit's basic color scheme makes it easy to coordinate with several of Jenni's collections, including Play Date, Magpie and more.

I've used the kit to embellish my page below in a couple of ways, including using one of the flashcards and the alpha to piece together my title.  And I've also added a pop of dimension by using a series of the patterned buttons as a horizontal border.  I've also tucked one of the cute little tabs behind my photo to record the date.

Supplies:
Jenni Bowlin Studio Digitals: Playful Embellishment Kit, Magpie Collection, Journaling
Basics, Vintage Bling, Chevron Stencil Cut File; Anna Aspnes: ArtPlay Palette Inflorescence (button); Creashens: Bare Necessities Cardstocks; Karen Funk: Simple Stitches.

Chiara Castelluccia has used the word flashcards and other bits of the kit on this fun page about what looks to be one of her family's favorite games!

You can grab the Playful Embellishment Kit for 25% off thru Sunday in the Jenni Bowlin Digital Shoppe at JessicaSprague.com!

Have a lovely weekend and a very happy Mother's Day!

A Challenge to Inspire You! (and Prizes!)

Sometimes it's fun to use a challenge to jump start your creativity! This month we're playing along a bit and challenging you to:
1.) Get creative with your journaling.
2.) Include at least two fabulous My Mind's Eye products (this month's kits are packed with them!).
3.) Use paint somewhere on your layout.

I sort of combined #1 and #3 by journaling on my paint. I hope you'll join in, and be inspired to play along!

We're teaming up with My Mind's Eye on this challenge, so be sure to check the MME Blog and the JBS Mercantile Message Board for information on how to enter and win several prizes!

May Mini-Album Kit by Karine

Hello!

Many people among the scrapbooking community have started a Project Life album and I’m one of them! What a fantastic adventure! I recently spent two days in Toulouse in the South of France with my son and now I have tons of pictures and things to tell in my binder!

I had fun using the May Mini-Album Kit from Jenni Bowlin Mercantile; a real pleasure! It is really time-saving to use the ring binder, the page dividers and the laminated pages!

It was a real pleasure to work with this format; The American-format ring binder is perfect to start your project life album! Even my son helps me with writing the stories and the titles, drawing some pictures…we also had fun collecting souvenir items for our album, such as postcards, tickets etc…

What about you? Are you now a Project Life addict?

Karine
