Welcome June's Guest Michelle Clement!

Hi there! I'm Michelle Clement - a 26-year old kid-at-heart who works in children's animation and freelance design. I make handmade goodies for my shop, Bubbly Shnooks, too, and have also had the pleasure of designing vintage-inspired paper collections for Sassafras Lass in the past. I've been scrapbooking pretty steadily since I was twelve (back when we used to cut our photos into hearts and stars and drown them in stickers!), and have had the pleasure of creating pages for Pink Paislee, Fancy Pants Designs, Crate Paper, and Bella Blvd among other fun spots over the years. I love living close to the ocean here in Vancouver, BC and getting my hands crafty in everything from scrapbooking to crocheting to sewing - and I have a weak spot for singer-songwriters, hammocks, lattes, graphic tees, cardigans, tattoos, old typewriters, thrifted linens, and anything octopus! You can find my crafty adventures on my blog, Scissor Quirk - stop by and say hello!

My favorite layout from the super-lovely June kit is 'Stanley' - I went on a photo shoot in Stanley Park here in Vancouver last fall, and it's still one of my favorite photo shoots. I'm so thankful that the beautiful park is basically right at my back door for nature walks and it's a great place for me to practice learning more about my camera - so I wanted to document it! The cardstock and labels were the perfect basics, allowing me to add little center-stage pops of color with the bird charm (that I painted turquoise with acrylic paint), chunky buttons, and ribbon. The pen nib embellishments inspired me to spill a little splash of 'ink' here and there, too - love them!

I love this photo because it's a snapshot of a regular summer day, for me - laying on the grass at the beach with mister husband until the sun goes down - Aah! I can't wait for it to be summer, again!

My sewing machine is one of the most coveted things in my studio - I feel a little lost with a page when it doesn't have any sewing on it, lately! I think it likes paper more than fabric, now. :)
