I love to find old letters and postcards and greeting cards, As a matter of fact I just purchased a lot from an auction that date back to the early 1900's and it is so much fun reading them. I am actually reading someones life. I have found old money and little treasures tucked inside the cards. I also love to collect old buttons, sheet music...wow the list goes on.

ReplyDeleteI don't know the correct word but I found lots of ribbons with dress sizes printed on them, used earlier in a clothing factory. They are European size numbers ie 34, 36, up to 52, a couple missing in between. I'll be using them in birthday cards and layouts etc. (I'm going to be 36 in July :-)

Last weekend I scored some vintage hankies, an old metal ban-aid box, a small 1920's dictonary, buttons and this cool retro womens golf shoe bag (i think thats what it is for, or many its supposed to hold golf balls) - who knows what I will use it for, but it is so cool looking - teal vinyl with a handle and a screened image if a woman swinging a club

Last year I found a book and when I opened it there was a pack of negatives.

My favorite finds are vintage metal lunch pails, especially red plaid ones. They are great for storing favorite vintage crocheted flowers and trims. I also love to find vintage Campbells Soup Kid mugs...I use them to store everything from glue sticks to vintage chandelier crystals.

I love vintage milk bottles. I recently started milk service and now I get my milk in 'new' bottles, I was so excited to learn that I could still get milk in bottles. It is way more expensive, but so fun!
