I am enjoying documenting the myriad great and small details of our lives with pocket pages and my JBS Mercantile kits. This is the opening page for my second album for 2013. The chalkboard cut-apart paper from My Mind's Eye in the Historian Add-on make for a striking introduction to the second half of the year. My favorite part, though, is the bright yellow sunglasses I stamped on vellum. I think this hip and versatile stamp set (seen below) will make its appearance many times in this album.
The Historian Add-on is currently sold out, but you can always email and get your name put on a waiting list as sometimes a spare kit or two will show up after billing.
This spread completes our summer trip to Florida. It documents everything from flooding to the Fourth of July and blueberry picking to crocheting at the canal while the boys fish. Such fun times all at a glance. I love it! More importantly, my son does too! I think he sees it like an comic strip of his life.
These pages were also made with the Historian Add-on with the addition of the Artisan Add-on (also sold out) plus the washi tape from the Mini-album Kit and the alphabet stickers from the Main Kit.
For the title on the pictures of blueberries, I outlined the letters with a black Sharpie and then colored this in with a light blue Sharpie. I then handwrote berries on a bit of vellum and stuck it on top.
Since the yellow washi tape was so bright, I felt like I needed to add more of that bright yellow throughout the layout. I did this by coloring the chalkboard cut-aparts with a yellow marker and a highlighter. The bright colors really pop off that black.
The Historian Add-on isn't just for pocket pages though! Check out the Design Team Gallery and your sure to find layout inspiration with it as well. It's just a great kit for adding extra journaling to your pages!
