Guest Star Angie Backen!

Hi all! My name is Angie & I've been a fan of JB and her products since I started being crafty again a few years ago so when I was asked to guest on the Inspiration Blog, I was beyond thrilled! Thank you so much for the opportunity.

I bought these white wicker balls from the dollar store, not really knowing what I was going to do with them. When I saw the colors and papers I was working with, I knew right away what I wanted to make. I created these ornaments for a sweet friend of mine, who just happens to love the color red. I tucked different JB paper punched circles and paper strips into each ball, applied some sparkly ModPodge to keep them in place, wound some red crocheted chains around each and created a fun little topper & tag using the JB tickets & alphas. They came out so much cuter than I had envisioned!

I also made a layout, wanting to capture my thoughts about this recent photo I snapped of my mother & grandmother holding hands. I've been wanting to use those fabulous JB butterflies for the longest time and knew they'd be perfect for this one.

Thanks for the fabulous inspiration Angie! You can view more of Angie's creations on her personal blog and her ATC challenge blog.

Guest Star Elizabeth Carney!

Today we're welcoming guest star Elizabeth Carney to the blog! Welcome Elizabeth!

When I started creating this layout, I didn't have any intentions of doing a winter layout. But the more I started working with the product the more it said "winter" to me! So this layout was born from the fact that this collection can be for any theme!!!

Supplies: Jenni Bowlin Studio Pearl Buttons, Jenni Bowlin Studio Mini Bingo Cards Vintage, Jenni Bowlin Studio Black Ledger cardstock alpha stickers, Jenni Bowlin Studio Chalkboard Alpha Red, Jenni Bowlin Studio - Red and Black III Collection - Die Cut Paper, Jenni Bowlin Studio - Red and Black III Collection - Journaling Cards, Jenni Bowlin Studio - Red and Black III Collection - Feed Store, American Crafts cardstock, American Crafts This and That pop dots, Offray ribbon.

I loved this die cut paper and wanted to ensure that I used it as much as possible. What really spurred this layout is the Jenni Bowlin Studio Memo Note Book because it had the #42 on it and that's how old I am!

Supplies: Jenni Bowlin Studio Black Ledger cardstock alpha stickers, Jenni Bowlin Studio - Red and Black III Collection - Mama's Dress, Jenni Bowlin black banner stickers, Generic buttons, DMC floss, American Crafts cardstock, Martha Stewart punch, Computer font Tahoma, Jenni Bowlin Studio Memo Note Book.

For this layout I really enjoyed mixing and matching JBS elements to make a new family page!

Guest Star Amy Bender!

Hi there! I'm Amy Bender and I live in Bethel, CT with my husband, Christian, and our two crazy kiddos, Gavin and Elizabeth, ages 8 and 4. We also have two neurotic cats who keep life interesting. Life is never dull around here! I like it that way. It keeps me on my toes!

I have been in Arts and Crafts all my life some how or another. My Mother, my Nanna, and my Nan have all been instrumental in fostering my creativity. They are my mentors, my guardians, and my angels in life. These three ladies taught me at a very young age everything they knew about Arts and Crafts. At a young age I was my mother's helper for her craft businesses. I went on to college for Studio Arts and Graphic Design with a concentration in Color Theory and Book Arts. Later on in life I used these skills to own and operate my own Scrapbook Store in Connecticut. It felt like a natural transition for me. I truly loved every moment of owning my store and helping my customers with their creative endeavours. Watching someone blossom and create something meaningful was so rewarding and made any struggle I face worth it.

Beyond my passion for the Arts, I have an insane infatuation with Cheshire Cats, Lucky Charms cereal, the color Pink!, Birkenstocks, and all things sparkly. I have quite the collection of each, except for the Lucky Charms! They are magically delicious! If there were ever pink, sparkley Birkenstocks with Cheshire Cats on them though...

The wreath is made with a slew of vintage buttons that were my Nanna's. The flowers on the wreath are created from instructions that Jenni gave me once at a trade show event. I adore these flowers!

You can read more on Amy's life and creativity on her blog, Moon Splash Designs.

Thanks for the inspiration Amy!

Guest Star Peg Dein!

It's Becky here, posting on behalf of my Mom, who is the JBS guest designer today! Mom was critically injured in a car accident 25 years ago and suffered a brain injury that took away most of her ability to speak and the use of her right hand, which was her primary hand. In spite of all that she has lost, she remains one of the most positive people I know. She inspires me constantly with her positive outlook on life. She lets nothing stop her from living a full life. She continues to scrapbook, with only one hand and it's not her primary hand! I don't know how she does it, but she does. She pumps out filled scrapbooks, year after year. What I love is that she finds such joy in scrapbooking all of our family memories.

Since she creates her pages just for us, she finds her inspiration from scrapbook magazines as well as right here on the JBS inspo blog and site. I think she is like many scrapbookers who find joy in documenting their families lives, but don't feel the need to "design" their own pages, when there are many ideas available in magazines and online. For those of us who work in the scrapbooking industry, this is a good thing. I love to look through Mom's scrapbook magazines and see the pages she has marked to use as inspiration. Sometimes, she even marks my pages!

I thought it would be fun to set a pile of my recent pages in front of her and let her use her JBS kit to create a page. She picked a page and set to work...and her page actually looks quite a bit different than my original page! We sat at my dining room table and scrapbooked together and had a wonderful afternoon! I made a page using the current JBS kit. Don't forget for updates on the JBS site on the 10th of every month!

I think my Mom is a huge inspiration and I thought some of you might think so too!

Guest Star Marcy Penner!

Marcy Says, "For some reason all the different papers from the new red, cream and black line reminded me of a cozy vintage quilt. The page started with a little paper quilt block around the photo and went from there!"

Just beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration Marcy!

Guest Star Mandie Pierce!

I am at stay at home mama of 3 and wife to an Air Force officer. We are currently stationed n Northern California. But, we've been as far north as Alaska and as far south as Texas. I started scapbooking in 1999 when our oldest was about 6 months old. I tried to quit once, but it didn't last! (It's too much fun!) I love all of the product, but I also love the documenting our family memories in a creative way. I like to think I am funny; but, in reality, I am just dorky! My husband (Troy) and I watch way too much t.v. We're junkies with a whole schedule each week! Though, when he is travelling, I usually spend my time scrapping or reading a novel. Thank you guys so much for this opportunity to join in the fun, and thanks Stephanie Howell for picking me! :) My blog is: Like a Lemon to a Lime (that came from an old Beastie Boys lyric from No Sleep Till Brooklyn - just incase anyone wondered. lol.)

I used the JB red/ black line. I used the die cut paper as a mask for mist & created a border with 2 shades of mist... Maya Road black licorice and Tattered Angels pearl. For the title I used one Jenni's new inks "Chili Powder." It was a perfect match for the paper. :) The postage stamps are vintage.

For this layout, I used the journaling cards and mini papers (& a little piece of one of the full sized papers.) This line reminded me of all of the old, family photos my mom recently gave to me. This particular one is of my great grandmother and two of my great aunts.

I really, really wanted to use that pink flower on one of the journaling cards and the pink butterflies. So, I cut the black and white leaves from the Mama's Dress paper. I cut a double circle out and put the leaves on in the shape of a wreath, added the pink flowers and butterfly & done! :)

Such lovely projects with a vintage vibe! Thanks for the inspiration Mandie!
