Wintry Mantles
I have heard several people mention how sad they were to see Christmas get packed up because it left the house feeling so bare in the new year. I love how Stephanie and Becky have both decorated in wintry whites, golds, and silvers. It's an elegant look that doesn't have to come down immediately on January 1st. Just remove the stockings and enjoy the winter scene till it's time for Valentine's decorations to make their appearance. This first set is Stephanie's . . .Thursday, January 6, 2011

NEW Dime Store Kit!
We have a New Dime Store Kit available this quarter! Mint Chocolate Chip! The product is on sale for 25% off and you can find it HERE. This little kit proves that you can make delightful projects with just the basics! This little mini was made from chipboard and paper and not much else! The front of the flower was covered in patterned paper. I used the mini sized papers, so I had to use two sheets to cover it. You can't see the seam as it's under the chipboard button.
I inked the back of the flower and all the chipboard buttons with a Jenni Bowlin for Ranger Chewing Gum ink pad. The chipboard buttons are sewn to the front and back of the flower with a simple piece of string. This first page is the back of a mini diecut label paper covered in green soda label patterned paper. A little jewel tag covered in mini bookprint with a rub-on completes the look.
For the back of the decut label I cut thin strips of patterned paper to make journaling lines. The next few pages of the book are just our mini 4x4 papers. The punched flower is a hydrangea from Marth Stewart.
Cover the backs of the mini papers with 4x6 photos cut to 4x4. Easy peasy! This page is a brown bookprint mini paper inked with that same Chewing Gum ink pad. A handcut heart, another punched hydrangea and a rub-on title here.
The back of the mini-album is the product packaging from the chipboard buttons! I am notorious for recycling product packaging in my projects! Just cover both sides with patterned paper and add a photo and journaling card then embellish. Add as many mini paper pages as you'd like. This is a fun and quick project and makes a great gift!
