We're back today with another charming layout from Laura Vegas. I absolutely love that every now and then she scrapbooks an "older" photo of her kids. It's so fun to reflect back on our children's younger years.
This layout was created with the August 2012 Papercrafting Kit. Jenni's put all the 2012 kits on sale at some great prices. These are in limited quantities, so snatch them up while you still can!

JBS Mercantile March Peek!
I spy with my little eye . . . an image stamped with an exclusive stamp, a background inked with an exclusive stencil, the front and back patterns from exclusive paper offerings designed by Lisa Dickinson, a vintage card, a lovely piece of vellum, a replica of a vintage camera, and several small bits all from the March Papercrafting Kit. Looks like March will be a beautiful month for scrapping at JBS Mercantile. :)
Ephemera and re-purposing go together~
Hi everyone~aren't these fruit labels gorgeous? I couldn't resist including them in my next re-purpose project !!! I will be using the vintage photo album page along with some fabulous JBS products!!!
I am using the Red/Black Collection and the Heart cards (digital) cut files also. I backed the vintage photo album page with an acrylic sheet and slipped the fruit labels under filling up the cut out window of the photo album page.
The little bits and pieces are all JBS!! There are so many fun items in the ephemera section in the Mercantile!!! I love using it ~
Have a great day!!!! by: C. Mercer

Edges & Headings: Inspiration from our Digital CT!
Yesterday, Betsy Sammarco gave us all a look at how paper scrapbookers can easily use the latest release in the JBS Digital Shoppe - Edges & Headings in their own pages. If you haven't had the chance to oogle these beautiful hybrid layouts by Betsy herself, well then click here!
Today, we'll let the JBS Digital CT gals inspire you with their digital pages using this very versatile kit!
The Edges and Headings Kit consists of 9 great vintage strips and blocks that are great for adding borders, edges, blocking or even journaling to your pages. And best of all--they come in a variety of file types which allows them to be easily recolored and used as brushes, fashioned as clipping masks or simply to add as plain old elements in your digital scrapbook pages.
Here I've used a couple of the strips from this kit and paired them with patterned papers from the Varsity Collection to create a fun and dimensional-looking foundation for my page.
Brynn Marie Dukes combined the notebook edge from this kit with a patterned paper to add a striking vertical border the the right side of her page.
And Chiara Castelluccia has used a combination of the strips and blocks stamped onto her background to house her journaling date and to ground her focal photo.

Gangnam Style!
Hi! Tina here today with a layout I created using the February Papercrafting kit, plus some tidbits from the Artisan Add On kit.
Have you ever made a layout knowing that your your kids or family member(s) would just kill you over the pictures in the layout? This would DEFINITELY be one of those layouts. :)
One day, last October, (in a very rare occurrence), my boys and I went for a walk and they 'allowed' me to take pictures of them. Of course, many of the pictures were not serious and completely reflected their 'boy' charm. In this sequence of photos, they were dancing 'Gangnam Style' and loving every minute of it!
I'm sure they had NO intention of these pictures showing up on a layout or in one of my projects, but I just couldn't resist. :) I was just waiting for the perfect paper and embellishments. When I received the February kit, the yellows, browns, blues, and greens from the new Modern Mercantile collection were perfect for the fall time pictures.
I also loved the exclusive digital cut from this months kit! I was a great way to add some subtle detail to the background, without 'over doing it'.
I hope they aren't too mad over the pictures! :)
Please be sure and share your layouts in our Customer/Member Gallery. We look forward to your creations!

Homespun and Sweet ...
... is the one way I can describe this gorgeous layout by Brynn Marie Dukes :
Baby Girl Bingo Card Kit, Baby of Mine Collection, Vintage Bling, Definition Labels, Jeweled Butterflies, Printed Tickets Baby Boy & Girl and Rhinestone Buttons & Bows by Jenni Bowlin Studio
Topography 16 by Val Wibbens
Beach House Wood Papers by Sahlin Studio
I love how her elements seem so casually placed, but everything looks balanced and perfect!
Two of the kits Brynn used on the layout are on sale today:
Chevron love with Modern Mercantile
There are lots of things to love about the Modern Mercantile collection but one of my favourite things is the fun chevron paper!
I trimmed a section of the chevron paper to add across the bottom of my layout. The best part is, with the great mix of patterns, I can trim a similar section for another page and it will look entirely different.
I clustered the rest of my elements above the chevron and then echoed the pattern above with a few hand-cut triangles. I love this collection and can't wait to find more ways to use those chevrons!
There are a couple of the February papercrafting kits featuring the Modern Mercantile line back in stock in the store here. Don't wait, they won't stay there long!
Happy Scrapping!

Modern Mercantile - Feather Love :)
Hello Hello :)
.............so what is 'Not to Love' about Lisa Dickinson's fabulous new paper range Modern Mercantile for Jenni Bowlin Studio. We were ever so lucky to create using this fabulous range in the February JBS Papercrafting Kit.
Today I would like to share with you one of the layouts I created from the February Papercrafting Kit, featuring both the Modern Mercantile papers and exclusive Star stencil.
To create the star pattern on the patterned paper background I used 2 different mediums; first I used a gold Copic marker with an airbrush, and then some fabulous 'seed packet' JBS paint in a micro mister.
I had so much creative fun with this months Papercrafting Kit and the Antiquarian Add-On Kit; here is a sneak of a layout I created using the Antiquarian Kit.
Do not forget to check out all the amazing creativity by the team for this month >>>>>>>>> HERE :) :) :)
Cheers and Happy JBS scrapping!

May Flaum's Painted and Inked Up Layout
Hi everyone! May Flaum here to share my first layout with the new Jenni Bowlin Studio goodies! I am always saying what I love most about Jenni's producs is that they work beautifully with older releases which makes my budget happy and my creative possibilities better than ever!
Notes on this layout:
- I used chewing gum paint to stamp (the dots) and color my title letters.
- I used chewing gum, malted milk, and seed packet ink pads to stamp and color white cardstock for my punched butterflies.
- The splatter you see in the background is both speckled egg re-inker flicked directly onto my page, and a watered down paint (speckled egg + water) flicked onto my page. I love the contrast they add!
By using a bold (4x6) photo and limiting my embellishments to the one side of the layout I was able to make a lot of ink (and paint) mess, but create a fairly clean finished layout.
Sad to See Her Go . . .
Megan Klauer has decided to lighten her scrappy load and is leaving JBS Mercantile this month. We are sad to see her go and wish her the very best.
