Digital Sale and Inspiration

It’s One Buck Wednesday again over at SnapClickSupplyCo!  We have  two digital kits on sale today, and projects to inspire not only the digital scrapper, but the traditional and hybrid scrapper too!

Parade Day is a gorgeous paper collection designed by Lisa Dickinson and Definition Labels is a popular Jenni Bowlin Studio classic.

Take a look at how Carrie Arick used our Definition Labels (along with Morning Mist) in this digital layout:

See how Carrie changed up the colors of the brushes in our kit?  You can read all about how she did this on her new blog here:  The Digiscrap Geek .

We also have some beautiful hybrid  projects using these kits  First up is a layout from Nirupama.

Niru printed and cut her background pieces and added them with other traditional scrapbooking pieces to a clean white piece of cardstock.   The way Niru layers her pieces and leaves edges of photos and paper unstuck creates such a carefree style.  And what a cool photo!

Next up is a tutorial from Chantalle McDaniel showing us how she used Parade Day and her process for creating a hybrid layout.

The majority of my layouts involve the use of my computer at one stage or another. Whether it’s planning a photo size, designing a page or printing off digital elements, my Mac is a most valued scrapping partner!

Read on to see how I went about planning and putting this layout together, using Jenni Bowlin Studio  ‘Parade Day’ digital papers and ‘Definition Labels’.
• To begin, I set up a new document in a word processing programme (I use InDesign.) I have an A4 printer, so I have gone for an 8.5x11 layout.
• Next, I think about what I want my page to look like, so I begin to set up the individual elements.
• I then place the elements onto separate pages so I can print them out individually, starting with the paper (printed onto white card stock at letter size, full bleed.) I then print my photo out onto photo paper. (I find this gives me the freedom to print exactly the size I want and also, save paper as I can adjust where it lies on the sheet.)
• Next I print off my other elements onto white cardstock.
Now I am ready to trim everything up and start putting my page together!
I have copied and pasted the ‘shine’ definition label inside a circular shape. The clear button has been in my stash for years (I have been hoarding it for just such an occasion!) It looks great amongst a mixture of embellies, like the JBS Wood Veneer button and silhouette style ‘Icon’ flatback.
The circles have been machine-stitched on in a zig zag pattern and their edges gently distressed. I have run a line of hand stitching along the paper tape too, for added hold and a bit of interest. (One could add more photos in the area underneath with additional journalling.)
Materials:

Digital

JBS Parade Day papers
JBS Definition Labels

Traditional

JBS Wood Veneer buttons
JBS 'Icons' Flatbacks
JBS ‘Everyday’ Flashcards
JBS Double Chevron paper tape

Sunny Skies

Are there sunny skies where you are this weekend?  Whatever the weather, you can have your own Sunny Skies with our new digital kit!

This kit is the first digital release of Lisa Dickinson's exclusive paper designs for our monthly JBS  Mercantile Kits.  Now you can have the gorgeous colors and patterns Lisa designs for our kit subscribers and customers in digital too!

Here's what our two of our creative team members have done with this kit.

This is from Nirupama, our hybrid scrapper.  Isn't just wonderful?  Such a beautiful airy piece of art.
From Nirupama:

"I loved Jenni's video showing her rub on techniques. Her trick for applying them to vellum is so good. I decided to print the blue floral patterned paper from Sunny Skies on vellum and fussy cut the flowers out. I also layered some rubs on the blue vellum paper I created with the awesome gold speech bubble runs ons. I treated the background with gesso and added some color with gelatos and water."

Niru used a lovely bunch of traditional scrapbooking product from the JBS Mercantile also:
Alterable Alphas - Microdot
Embellished Butterflies
Rub-Ons
Die-Cut & Perforated Paper - Bank Statement
Vintage Sew-On Buttons

This one is from Chrissy Guido who played and blended and layered all in digital!

Thank you ladies for your wonderful inspiration!

If you want Sunny Skies for yourself, then grab it this weekend when it's 25% off!

So Inspired : Crowns for Christmas

Our  release at JessicaSprague.com this weekend is a digital replay of Jenni's classic crown rub-ons.  They are available in the kit as both brushes (.abr format) and .png images.  I can't wait to show you what Nirupama Kumar did with the png images and her cutting machine.

Oh how adorable!

from Niru:
I used the trace feature in Silhouette to turn these crowns into cut files. I used one large one as a stencil for my chalkboard. I love the festive and unique touch it adds! I also cut out mini crowns, glittered them and created a banner for the top. My son was so excited about the crown shape that he wanted one for himself. He decorated it and and I glued it to a tissue paper crown.

What a beautiful banner these crowns make!

As a stencil for her chalkboard?!  I must try this!

 What a beautiful Christmas display!

Oh the ideas and inspiration Niru has made and put into my head!  No more store bought crowns for my neices' birthdays ... crown banners for New Years! ...  chalkboard inspiration for my Mercantile Chalkboard Easel ... crown ornaments for my tree ...

the list goes on and on!

Thank you Niru for a wonderful post and inspiration!
