A Hybrid Mini Album from Chantalle McDaniel

Chantalle McDaniel has created a beautiful mini album using both digital and traditional hybrid products.  The backbone of the mini is the printable pdf from the Modern Mercantile digital kit.  Chantalle also used the punchable pdf from the JBS Watch Faces kit. Printables and punchables are an easy way to incorporate more supplies into your scrapbooking stash!

I stumbled upon a book the other day that I hadn’t seen in a while. I had highlighted a few parts inside that I’d found interesting and relevant at the time. With all the gorgeous mini album inspiration on the blog at the moment, I decided to make this little keepsake and pop in a collection of quotes that inspire me. Using JBS Modern Mercantile 3x4 journaling card printables, it’s small enough to keep close to hand plus I can add more as time goes on.

I quite often keep interesting bits of packaging, like this piece, which I’ve made into a shaker box for the front of my album. I’ve popped some ‘bloom’ sequins and secured a flatback inside.

Using the Mercantile Mix Graphic Feathers, I’ve created some paper feathers using my Silhouette Cameo. I’ve covered these and some leaf wood veneer with some beautiful gold rub ons.

The Mini Deck card has been run through with an embossing folder for interest.

I covered a leaf wood veneer with washi tape and lightly sand for some texture.

Printing off files onto vellum can give a lovely soft feeling. These are the 1 inch watch face punchables which have been punched out and an epoxy sticker added to one to make a fun dimensional clock piece.

Traditional supplies: Quilted stickers; Star Banner - Red Stickers; flat backs; clear stamps; sequins; doily, star and labeled rub ons; washi tape; Magpie paper; wood veneer buttons; mini deck cards; chipboard leaves

Thank you Chantalle for a most inspiring mini!

Holiday Helper Mini Album
{Made with the Historian Add-On}

This time of year, I need lists, lists, and more lists.  I need reminders, places to take notes, and check things off. And I need to keep all of these close to me at all times!

When I looked at the December Historian kit I could picture a mini album to help me with need for holiday organization. There are only a few of the Historian kits left, so if you want one, you'll have to grab it soon!

The patterned paper from Echo Park has pocket sized 3x4 inch cards printed on the A-side. Wouldn't these be perfect cut for a mini album?!  So I cut out the 3x4's, added titles and embellishments to the pages with room enough for my notes, checkoffs, and lists.  I've put a clear transparency cut to fit on the front and back of the mini to protect it.  It will be traveling a lot with me in my bag in the next days to come and needs to stay in tact!

The entire mini was made with the Historian Add-On except for the October Afternoon tag sticker sheet from the Mini Album Kit, and a few items from the main PCK.

Try using the Historian Kit to make your own mini album!

Ive used some of the awesome Kit Exclusives :) :) :)

Aren't those wood veneers just TDF?!!! :)

And seriously could I be any morse excited about this feather mask?!!!! :) :) :)

I used the feather die cut to create a smaller version on the mask so that I could create a masked feather pattern on the cover of my mini album :)

an album to express my gratitude

As I sat down to create this journal, I was struck by how grateful I am that I have the opportunity to work with companies (and people!) like Jenni Bowlin that embrace the style of my work, and what I love! It makes creating such an enjoyable process, and I'm thankful.

I'm just sharing a simple mini album today that I created using the naked chipboard album - a place to add a couple of photos, and a few words to express the things that I'm most grateful for this year. I haven't added the photos, yet - but you can see where I penciled notes to myself on where I'm planning to add them.

Bits of burlap, felt and gold merge for beautiful texture on this project.

And feathers. Sigh. I still love them.

I couldn't resist adding little bits of foil accents from past Mercantile kits...

Happy creating!

Give Thanks...

November is a great month for reminding ourselves to be more thankful of the blessings in our life right? And even though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving Day here in Australia, I find that it's still such a fabulous reminder to take the time and get a little bit of perspective on some of the things we might otherwise take for granted.

My eldest daughter is 7 and is at a stage where she really loves to write things down. She writes little stories, and lists of things she wants to remember, and letters to her grandparents, it goes on and on. As many of the other DT members have been sharing their gratitude albums this month it's inspired me to decorate a version of the same idea for my daughter to fill in.

I used the ever-delightful October Papercrafting Kit with it's warm colour scheme to build up lots of layers on the front cover. It might look a little complicated but in reality it's all quick and no-fuss because all the tags and embellishments were included in the kit and I've literally just stuck them on top of one another with foam tape!!

The inside is filled with blank pages which prompt her to think about what she's feeling and to list a few things she's thankful for. She's already filled out a handful of the pages, and trust me when I say she's not always feeling 'fine'! But I had to laugh when I read this one right at the beginning of the book. The writing is a little hard to read, so let me translate it for you! It says "I am thankful for my whole family, my washing machine and food and water. I am also thankful for clothes. Also money. Don't forget houses! I am also thankful for toys. I just adore them!"

Not a bad effort for a 7 year old hey? What are you grateful for?

I am Grateful....

Hi!  Tina here today with a project in celebration of our Gratitude month!

I wanted to take a slightly different approach and create something that could be used throughout the year to capture those Gratitude memories!

I've created a mini envelope 'album' that will allow you to record and keep your Gratitude memories about your special someone or for your entire family.    Each Grateful pocket will safely store your notes until the time when you want to share your memories with your loved ones.

Nine separate pockets will store your specific memories of how you are Grateful.

My Grateful pockets include:

for secret messages.
for your kindness.
for your understanding.
for your love.
for your sincerity.
for your laughter.
for your support.
for your compassion.
for your thoughtfulness.

What a perfect way to record your memories throughout the year and give a special gift to a special someone.

I added a mini Velcro closure to each envelope for safe keeping.

This is such a easy and quick project, you could create several.  :)

Jenni Bowlin Supplies include:

Feather Tags-Vintage
Paper Tape - Bleached Wood
Paper Tape - Hounds Tooth
Paper Tape - Sideways Chevron
Dotted Labels - Red & Black
Mini Chipboard - Stars
Skinny Alpha Stickers - Grey
Scattered Star Stencil
Scattered Star Stamp- November Paper Crafting Kit
Star Sticker

I hope you enjoyed by Gratitude Envelope Mini today!  What projects have you created to show your Gratitude?  We'd love to see them!

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Be My Valentine (All Year Long)

Happy Valentine's Day!
It's Jill here, with a mini-album that celebrates love and JBS all year long.
Using binding tape and the large Bingo card calendar set, I compiled an album to document a photo a month of my husband and me, along with a few thoughts about the little "anniversaries" that occur each month.  We don't take enough photos together, and this album will prompt us to do so at least once a month.  So far, we're on track with January and February!
Each of the layouts in the mini pulls together collections of JBS accents, such as journaling cards (above) and printed tickets (below)...
punched patterns...
rub-ons, paint dabbers, and stamps...
(this was actually stamped with the end of a spool)
and buttons.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today, and have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
